DTI Beacon Projects: End of project completion forms

The DTI requires that at the end of each Beacon project the grant holders provide a number of documents. These need to be completed and agreed with the Technical Monitor and Technology Transfer Monitor for the project before the No Obligation to Pay date.

The following documents are required.

Final Claim

The final financial claim from the university. This should be accompanied by an audit statement to the effect that the project funds have been dispersed solely for the purpose of the project, signed by the University Treasurer or equivalent authorised person.

Final Six Month Project Report

A final six month project report must be completed and submitted as usual.

Project Completion Form (PCF)

The Project Completion Form is an essential component of the closure of a project and will be used to assess the success of the project by the DTI and their advisors. This form must be completed and returned with the final financial claim from the project, and must be received by LGC and the Technical Monitor for the project before the DTI no obligation to pay date.

Please note the DTI are not obliged to pay any claims after the no obligation to pay date and no claims will be paid without a completed project completion form and other information required (See Final claim section above)

Project Completion Guidance Notes are available to help you complete the form.

Web site

A summary of your project will go onto the beacons web site, and possibly the DTI web site for dissemination purposes. Please could you provide a suitable project summary, including visual images if appropriate. The summary should be limited to between 200 and 400 words, and should be written for the lay public rather than a specialist scientific audience.

Please send the web summary to Celia Caulcott ( cac@cplusc.co.uk ) and LGC (see below for contact details).

Exploitation Questionnaires

The Exploitation Questionnaire has been incorporated into the Project Completion Form and a separate one is therefore not required. However, you will be asked to provide an updated Exploitation Questionnaire twelve months after the completion of your project, and possible after thirty months afterwards to follow up any further exploitation. You will be asked to complete this form within one month of receiving it.
